iPhone Updates for Latest Models Immediately Available from Apple on Launch Day
Apple has rolled out an update for its latest iOS 26 software, making it available for the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models. The update, version 23A345, is exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, while the iPhone Air requires update 23A341.
The update, less than 800MB, became available on Tuesday, Sept. 18, for the Series 17 iPhones, taking them to version 23A341. For the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, the update was offered before the first handsets went on sale in places like New Zealand and Australia.
However, the update does not address the camera issue affecting some early reviews of the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro. Apple has stated that a fix for this problem is in the pipeline. The company has not specified any effect on camera performance in the update.
The new updates for iOS 26 have been a subject of interest, as they were initially seen only on review units of the iPhone. With the iPhones now on general sale, the updates are now available to all users.
The update for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max could potentially slow down the set-up process, but the exact contents of the update remain undisclosed. The updates for iOS 26 are not available for iPhone models older than the Series 17 or newer than the Series 17 Pro.
Apple's latest software update, iOS 26, offers new powerful features, improved AI integration, enhanced customization, and stronger privacy controls specifically optimized for devices with A13 Bionic chip and newer. This includes the iPhone 17 Pro series.
For users who do not wish to upgrade to iOS 26, Apple has released iOS 18.7 as an alternative option. It is important to note that the updates for iOS 26 are being released just days after its initial launch.
Stay tuned for more updates on Apple's iOS 26 and its impact on the iPhone 17 series.
