Animaj Secures $85 Million Funding Round for AI-Powered Kids' Entertainment

Animaj, a trailblazing digital-first kids and family entertainment company, has secured an impressive $85 million funding round, led by HarbourView Equity Partners and France's Bpifrance.

Based in London and Paris, Animaj is redefining animation for younger audiences by combining AI-enhanced production with platform-native content development. Their AI tools, such as "Sketch-to-Motion," accelerate animation workflows by automating in-between frames, delivering high-quality and style-consistent serialized content quickly and at scale. This innovative approach has garnered them a significant following, reaching 240 million monthly viewers and generating 22 billion annual views on YouTube.

The funding will be used to expand Animaj's strategy of turning high-potential kids' intellectual properties (IPs) into global, multi-format franchises by leveraging their hybrid AI-powered production model. This capital infusion will support their growth, especially in scaling content production and expanding their global reach, including doubling down on the U.S. market.

Animaj was founded by Grégory Dray, a former Google and YouTube executive, and Sixte de Vauplane in May 2022. The company has also attracted the attention of Arduina Partners, who were impressed by Animaj's execution and unique AI × IP model.

In addition to HarbourView and Bpifrance, the funding round includes contributions from Left Lane Capital, Daphni, X-Ange, and Arduina Partners. José Gonzalo, executive director at Bpifrance, described Animaj as "a pioneering player in the use of AI for audiovisual production."

The funds will also be used to scale Animaj's AI-powered "flywheel" model, which aims to revitalize under-utilized IP globally. Animaj's unique approach to kids' entertainment has not gone unnoticed, as they were recently selected to join the 2025 Disney Accelerator Program. This program will connect them with Disney’s internal teams to explore new storytelling technologies and formats, further enhancing their innovative approach.

Animaj develops and distributes AI-enabled, multiplatform content campaigns targeting YouTube, TikTok, Roblox, Spotify, and FAST channels. Their AI production system and data-driven insights enable them to create content that resonates with their young audience across various platforms. This investment supports HarbourView's expanding media and IP portfolio.

With this significant funding round, Animaj is poised to make a significant impact in the kids' entertainment industry, leveraging AI to create engaging and innovative content for a global audience.
