International Broadcasting Venture by Fremantle: Launch of 19 Fast Streaming Channels in Seven European Countries

Fremantle Expands into FAST Channels, Debuts Family Feud Steve Harvey internationally

Fremantle, a global leader in television production and content distribution, is making its international debut outside North America with the Family Feud Steve Harvey channel. This marks the first rollout of Fremantle FAST channels in Ireland.

The expansion into FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) channels includes launching channels distributed through services like Tubi, featuring a variety of popular programs and broad territorial reach, primarily in the U.S. Fremantle has partnered with FAST platforms such as Tubi, where their entertainment channels are part of Tubi’s offering of over 200 live channels. These FAST channels leverage Fremantle’s extensive content library and are available in territories served by these platforms, mainly the United States.

Fremantle’s programming within these FAST channels includes well-known formats and series contributing to Tubi’s entertainment categories, alongside content from other major producers such as Lionsgate and Banijay. Shows range across genres like reality, game shows, and lifestyle content, including notable titles like "The Biggest Loser" and series from chefs like Jamie Oliver, who also has series landing at Tastemade under Fremantle’s umbrella.

While explicit territory listings for Fremantle’s FAST channels were not detailed, the distribution is primarily via platforms like Tubi and possibly Pluto TV, which have wide availability in the U.S., Canada, and increasingly Europe and Australia. Pluto TV is a leading FAST service in Canada and expanding in Europe, which may extend Fremantle channel availability indirectly.

In addition to the Family Feud Steve Harvey channel, Fremantle’s lineup includes popular titles such as Escape to the Country, Project Runway, and The Jamie Oliver Channel. The Jamie Oliver Channel is set to premiere across the Nordics on Samsung TV Plus EMEA later this summer, covering seven territories: the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland.

Fremantle operates a vast international network and continues to innovate in digital and streaming platforms. As a company that operates in Content Acquisition, Co-Production, Distribution, Financing, IP Curation & Development, IP/Format Adaptation, Production, Sales Agents, Scripted Production, and Story & Format Development, they are well-positioned to navigate the evolving landscape of streaming and television.

Laura Florence, SVP Global Channels at Fremantle, commented on the expansion, "We are thrilled to bring our content to new audiences around the world. Our partnerships with leading FAST platforms allow us to reach viewers where they are consuming content, and we are excited to continue expanding our presence in this space."

Technology plays a significant role in Fremantle's expansion, as they partner with FAST platforms like Tubi to launch their entertainment channels, leveraging their content library for ad-supported streaming. Additionally, the company's diversified pipeline, which includes programming genres such as reality, game shows, and lifestyle content, showcases their commitment to the ever-evolving landscape of entertainment.
