India Bolsters Sir Creek Security, Singh Warns Pakistan

Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, on Thursday, October 2, 2025, inaugurated two strategic facilities in the disputed Sir Creek sector. The virtual event, held from Bhuj Military Station in Gujarat, saw Singh issue a stern warning to Pakistan. He also performed Shastra Puja, a traditional weapon worship ceremony.

The inaugurated facilities were the Tidal Independent Berthing Facility and the Joint Control Centre (JCC). These are designed to bolster coastal security in the strategic Sir Creek sector, a 98-kilometre-long narrow strip of water. The sector's maritime boundary lines are disputed between India and Pakistan.

Singh's warning to Pakistan was clear: any misadventure in the Sir Creek sector would face a 'decisive response' that could alter both 'history and geography'. This comes amidst ongoing tensions between the two nations.

On the occasion of Vijayadashami, Singh performed Shastra Puja, describing it as a reflection of India's civilisational philosophy. He congratulated the armed forces for successfully thwarting Pakistan's attempts to breach India's defence network during Operation Sindoor. Singh described the Army, the Air Force, and the Navy as 'three pillars' of India's strength, emphasizing their collective effort.

The Indian Army plans to strengthen patrolling and surveillance in the Sir Creek and Sundarbans regions. Singh's inauguration of the strategic facilities and his stern warning to Pakistan underscore India's commitment to safeguarding its territorial integrity and maritime interests.
