DeCicco & Sons, a well-established independent grocer based in New York, has announced a strategic partnership with retail shelf digitization provider Simbe. This collaboration marks a significant step forward for both companies, aiming to elevate store management and customer experience through the use of advanced retail technology.

The partnership brings Simbe's Store Intelligence platform to DeCicco's new flagship Sleepy Hollow, N.Y., location, as well as to additional stores in Eastchester and Larchmont, N.Y. This AI-powered platform is designed to offer a more seamless and engaging shopping environment, such as the new flagship location in Sleepy Hollow, by automating inventory management, improving store operations, and aligning with DeCicco & Sons' strategic vision for the future of grocery retail.

John DeCicco Jr., president of DeCicco & Sons, stated that the partnership allows them to enhance customer service by automating inventory management, enabling their team members to spend more time assisting customers and less time on repetitive tasks. The technology provided by Simbe complements DeCicco & Sons' vision for a modern retail environment that improves product availability, pricing accuracy, and service quality while reducing manual effort.

The Sleepy Hollow store integrates digital shelf displays from Aperion, contactless checkout, and mobile solutions with Simbe's Store Intelligence platform. This integration works to create a seamless, modern retail environment that supports greater operational precision and in-store execution. The partnership with Simbe also supports DeCicco & Sons' mission to offer products that cater to consumers' preferences for items that can be used for both snacking occasions and to elevate main dishes.

DeCicco & Sons operates 11 stores throughout New York's Westchester and Putnam counties, including the flagship Sleepy Hollow location. The company is extensively renovating its Scarsdale store over the coming year, and they will make their state debut with a Greenwich location in 2025. In addition to its focus on grocery offerings, DeCicco & Sons has formed a partnership with Damselfly Flowers to add upscale floral stations to its stores.

This collaboration signifies a move towards AI-driven store management that elevates both operational efficiency and the overall shopping experience for customers at DeCicco & Sons Markets. As DeCicco & Sons continues to expand and innovate, they are poised to remain at the forefront of technological adoption in the grocery retail sector.
