Google Unveils Live & Practice: AI-Powered Translation & Learning

Google has enhanced its translation services with two new AI-powered features: Live and Practice. Live offers real-time speech-to-speech translation directly in Google Meet, while Practice provides personalized language learning exercises.

Live, currently available in the USA, India, and Mexico, facilitates real-time, bidirectional conversations in over 70 languages. It translates both audio and text on the screen, adapting to pauses, accents, and intonations. This feature is integrated into Google Meet, making multilingual meetings more accessible.

Practice, initially in beta, focuses on improving listening and speaking skills. Users can set their skill level and goals, with the feature generating adaptive exercises based on current language acquisition studies. It's initially available for English speakers learning Spanish or French, and for Spanish, French, and Portuguese speakers learning English.

Google's new AI features, Live and Practice, aim to break down language barriers in meetings and enhance language learning. Live brings real-time translation to Google Meet, while Practice offers personalized, adaptive exercises for improved speaking and listening skills.
