Google Pay collaboration expands, now seamlessly integrates with Autofill on Chrome for smoother transactions
Affirm, a leading payment network, has expanded its collaboration with Google Pay, integrating its buy now, pay later (BNPL) service directly into the Google Chrome autofill feature for U.S. desktop shoppers. This move aims to bring Affirm's flexible and transparent payment options to more consumers, offering a streamlined and seamless checkout experience.
With this integration, eligible shoppers can access Affirm's payment plans—ranging from four biweekly payments to monthly installments up to 24 months, and with interest rates starting at 0% APR and no hidden fees—directly from the autofill dropdown menu when checking out on websites that accept Google Pay. No additional steps or merchant setup are required, making the process quick and convenient.
For consumers, this expansion provides faster access to financing options without leaving the browser or undergoing a lengthy application process. It offers a safe and secure checkout experience, leveraging the convenience of autofill on Chrome and Android.
For merchants, the integration automatically activates on select sites without requiring any additional work, potentially increasing conversion rates as more shoppers can pay over time easily and securely.
This partnership addresses a major pain point in e-commerce payment flow, enhancing convenience, speed, security, and payment choice at online checkout. It scales Affirm's BNPL adoption through one of the most popular desktop browsers in the U.S., Google Chrome, which is used dominantly by 58% of U.S. adults.
Affirm prides itself on its commitment to transparency and fairness, with no late or hidden fees. This expansion aims to bring Affirm to many more consumers, making its flexible payment options more accessible to a wider audience.
People shop on Google more than a billion times per day, and this integration is set to make Affirm a more attractive payment option for these shoppers, providing a seamless and efficient checkout experience. Vishal Kapoor, SVP of Product at Affirm, stated that they are excited to expand their work with Google Pay.
