Google Cloud & Somnia Team Up to Revolutionize Web3 Gaming
Google Cloud and Somnia have joined forces to boost Web3 technology in the gaming industry. Jack Buser, Google's Director for Games and Strategic Industries, revealed that this partnership will elevate the sector.
The collaboration, announced in 2025, brings a suite of Web3 solutions to Google Cloud customers. These include data and analytics, AI, and machine learning tools to build, monetize, distribute, and analyze Web3 game stacks in the cloud.
Meanwhile, Google Cloud is integrating with Aptos Labs to further support blockchain games. Aptos, previously partnered with Ready Games, has opened its community to over 15 million gamers. The integration combines Google Cloud's data and analytics with Aptos' Web3 game tools. Aptos Gamestack offers Unity APIs for wallets, transactions, NFT collections, and tokens to enhance in-game user engagement. Additionally, Aptos will speed up user onboarding using Web2-friendly sign-ons via email or social media profiles.
The partnership between Google Cloud and Somnia, along with the integration of Google Cloud and Aptos Labs, is set to transform the Web3 gaming landscape. These collaborations aim to provide comprehensive solutions for developers and enhance user experiences in blockchain games.
