Global Insurance Company Makes Two Important Staff Appointments

Globe Underwriting Expands into Financial Lines Market with New Appointments

Globe Underwriting, a UK-based managing general agent, is making strides in the financial lines market with a series of key appointments. The company has appointed Paul Nolan as Head of Financial Lines, and Kiran Wignall as Underwriting Manager for Professional Indemnity (PI).

Paul Nolan, with over 20 years of London market underwriting experience, joins Globe from Probitas Syndicate 1492. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role, having managed a diversified portfolio with a combined GWP of approximately £80 million at Probitas. Nolan is excited about shaping the strategy, recruiting top talent, and building a strong, collaborative underwriting culture at Globe. He will be responsible for leading the overall underwriting strategy and portfolio management across financial lines.

Kiran Wignall, with 12 years of specialist underwriting experience, joins Globe from Probitas Syndicate 1492 as well. Wignall will be responsible for the underwriting strategy, growth, and profitability of the PI book. Her experience at AGCS, Hiscox, and Probitas Syndicate 1492 has prepared her well for this role.

These appointments reflect Globe's dedication to delivering expert-led, service-driven underwriting solutions. The agreement supports international professional indemnity risks.

Meanwhile, BGL Insurance (BGLi) has appointed a Managing Director of Distribution, Laura Mullaney. This is a new position within the business for Mullaney.

Elsewhere in the industry, Pen Underwriting has expanded its partnership with global reinsurer SiriusPoint. SiriusPoint will provide 100% capacity for Pen's international professional indemnity portfolio.

In Ireland, iSure, a specialist SME insurance MGA, has launched a Professional Indemnity (PI) facility. The new facility has a €2m primary and a €3m excess of loss limit.

These appointments and launches mark Globe's expansion into the financial lines market and the launch of its first professional indemnity proposition.
