Geotab Expands Global Reach, Acquires Verizon Connect's Telematics Business in Nine Markets

Geotab has snapped up Verizon's connections telematics business in nine key markets, including the UK, Ireland, and Australia. The deal allows Verizon to concentrate on its North American clients and sees over 400 Verizon connections employees joining Geotab. Industry experts view this as a strategic move by Geotab to capture a larger share of the SME telematics market.

The acquisition, which focuses solely on sales and commercial teams, significantly expands Geotab's global footprint and market reach, particularly with small and mid-sized fleets. Matthew Kassel, Geotab's Senior VP for Strategic Acquisitions and Integration, is overseeing the onboarding of new employees. The acquired teams are being deployed in Australia and multiple European countries, including the UK, Ireland, Italy, France, Portugal, Poland, the Netherlands, and Germany.

Geotab's Founder, President, and CEO, Neil Cawse, believes the acquisition will unlock greater efficiency, safety, and sustainability for customers with small to mid-sized fleets.

With this acquisition, Geotab strengthens its position in the global telematics market, particularly with SMEs. The integration of over 400 new employees from Verizon connections is expected to bring fresh perspectives and expertise, further enhancing Geotab's offerings.
