Genesis Unveils X Gran Coupe Concept, Its First Coupe Ever
Genesis has unveiled the X Gran Coupe Concept, its first-ever coupe since the brand's inception in 2015. The vehicle is a fully functioning prototype, hinting at a potential new addition to the luxury grand touring coupe market.
The X Gran Coupe Concept draws inspiration from the Genesis G90 sedan and the discontinued Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. It features a low-slung roofline, widened fender design, and a canopy-inspired silhouette, enhancing its coupe presence. Inside, the interior is derived from the G90, with an elegant mix of green and tan premium leather, olive wood inlays, and custom ambient lighting.
The concept is equipped with belt-in-seat structures in the front seats and dedicated air vents and an integrated rear display for rear passengers, ensuring comfort and entertainment for all occupants. Genesis has released real-life images and video footage, confirming the vehicle's functionality and drivetrain. The development of a fully functional prototype suggests that the X Gran Coupe Concept could evolve into a production-ready luxury coupe, challenging established European players in the ultra-luxury grand touring coupe segment.
If launched, the Genesis G90 Coupe (X Gran Coupe Concept) would expand Genesis' model range and represent the brand's boldest move yet in redefining Korean luxury on the world stage. The decision on production lies with Genesis, but the significant investment and clear intention towards series production make a compelling case for the X Gran Coupe Concept's future.
