Future interior design unveiled by Cupra featuring groundbreaking concept

In September 2025, the automotive world will bear witness to an electrifying event as Spanish performance brand Cupra unveils its latest innovations at the IAA Mobility event in Munich. The main attractions will be the camouflaged preview of the brand's upcoming compact electric crossover, the Raval, and a daring Showcar that embodies Cupra's future design vision.

The Raval, a compact electric crossover, is set to embody Cupra's rebellious, emotional, and urban character, marking a bold step toward the brand’s future in electric mobility. Sharing its platform, batteries, and motor with Volkswagen’s ID.2 and ID.2 All SUV, and Skoda’s new Epiq, production will take place at Cupra’s home plant in Martorell, near Barcelona.

Performance-wise, the Raval is expected to offer a choice of battery sizes, with a more affordable version targeting around 300 km of range, and a top-spec version capable of about 440 km on a single charge. Power options include a front-wheel-drive electric motor with up to 225 hp, ensuring a sporty driving experience that is characteristic of the Cupra brand. Pricing for the Raval is anticipated to be competitive, positioned considerably under the €30,000 mark, making it an accessible entry into electric urban crossovers.

Accompanying the Raval at the Munich motor show will be a separate Showcar that represents Cupra’s courageous and futuristic design direction. This Showcar is not just about technical specs but focuses on emotion, design boldness, and the synergy between driver and machine. It aims to be a “heart of Cupra’s future”, emphasizing a deeply personal and emotional driving experience conveyed through innovative styling and expressive forms.

The interior design of the Showcar promises radical innovation, marking a bold step in Cupra’s design language for the coming years. The cabin design resembles that of the DarkRebel concept shown in 2023, with a chunky central spine similar to the electric Tavascan and a yoke-like steering wheel. The seats in the new concept car appear to be racing seats, and the front end design includes a broader grille and triangular LED lights.

The concept car is expected to show the next step in Cupra's exterior design language, with a revamped front end that includes a more prominent beak in the front end of the cars, as seen in the revamp of the entire line-up last year. The concept car is designed to blend "human and machine", aiming for a deeply personal driving experience that expresses emotion through every curve and angle.

The new Raval is expected to arrive in 2026, and the new concept car's preview picture shows a radical new cabin design. The Raval is a rival to the Renault 5, and the unveiling of both vehicles at the 2025 Munich motor show will undoubtedly set the stage for an exciting future for Cupra and electric mobility.

The Raval electric crossover, a crucial vehicle in Cupra's electrification strategy, will share its underpinnings with other models from the Volkswagen Group, bridging the gap between finance and the automotive industry through a competitive pricing structure. On the other hand, the Showcar coming to the IAA Mobility event in Munich is set to revolutionize the transportation sector, encapsulating Cupra's futuristic technology and design vision for the coming years.
