Funding of half a million dollars granted to Flexprice for bolstering open-source invoicing within the artificial intelligence-dominated economic landscape

Flexprice, an open-source billing and metering platform, has announced a successful pre-seed funding round of $500,000. The funding round was led by TDV Partners, with participation from seasoned operators and angel investors, including Brij Bhushan, Gunjan Patidar, Ram Singla, Pradyot Ghate, Sandeep Gupta, Akash Singh, Harshit Dwivedi, and others.

The funding will be used to expand Flexprice's engineering team, accelerate integrations with popular payment gateways like Stripe, Adyen, and Razorpay, and deepen its open-source offerings. The platform is targeting both the 70,000+ "AI-native" startups worldwide and large enterprises, aiming to help them evolve their AI monetisation models.

Flexprice offers developer-first APIs and SDKs for real-time usage tracking, event instrumentation, and quota gating. The composable design of Flexprice allows it to function either as a metering layer or a complete billing engine. It supports multiple pricing models, including pay-as-you-go, credits, seats, or volume tiers.

The platform features real-time analytics dashboards and invoice visibility for both customers and internal teams. Manish Choudhary, CEO of Flexprice, stated that the platform is built to ensure pricing, packaging, and billing are never a bottleneck. Nikhil Mishra, CTO of Flexprice, added that their goal is to make modern billing accessible, composable, and cost-effective.

The AI boom is reshaping monetization strategies, with over two-thirds of SaaS companies launching or integrating GenAI features. However, legacy billing tools often struggle to meet the demands of today's dynamic, metered AI and API-first business models. Flexprice aims to offer developers a modular billing layer to help launch and scale usage-based, hybrid, or custom pricing.

Ujwal Sutaria, General Partner at TDV Partners, believes that Flexprice is solving a fundamental infrastructure gap in the monetization stack for AI and Agentic companies. The total addressable market (TAM) for modern AI billing infrastructure is estimated at $4 billion, growing at 20% CAGR. This shift towards usage-based or hybrid billing models is necessitated by the increasing infrastructure costs and altered customer value perception.

Flexprice was founded in 2025 with the aim to address these challenges. The company's founders saw the need for a streamlined, efficient billing solution that could adapt to the evolving needs of AI-driven businesses. With its latest funding round, Flexprice is well-positioned to meet this demand and continue its mission to revolutionise AI monetisation.

The new funding will also help Flexprice to continue its open-source development, ensuring that its platform remains accessible and adaptable to a wide range of businesses. As AI continues to reshape the business landscape, Flexprice is poised to be a key player in the monetisation revolution.
