Funding Obtained by Ultion Technologies for Expansion of Crucial U.S. Battery Production
Ultion Technologies Expands Domestic Battery Manufacturing Capacity in the U.S.
Ultion Technologies, a leading manufacturer of advanced lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery cells and energy storage systems, has announced plans to significantly scale its domestic production capacity. This expansion follows the successful completion of a Series A funding round in July 2025.
The funding round was led by Torus, a Utah-based energy storage company, and the Nevada state-sponsored Battle Born Venture program. With this investment, Ultion aims to increase its production capacity more than fivefold at its vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Nevada.
Ultion is unique in its ability to produce advanced LFP battery cell technology and energy storage systems at scale, making it the only fully integrated U.S. manufacturer in this field. The company's Nevada facility already uses a predominantly domestic supply chain, with plans to achieve fully domestic sourcing in the near future. This move is aimed at reducing dependency on foreign imports, thereby strengthening American energy security and supply chain resilience.
Ultion's strategic focus is on vertical integration to enhance U.S. battery independence and job creation. The company's growth is aligned with projections from Wood Mackenzie, which forecasts over $1.2 trillion in global battery energy storage investments by 2034 to support renewables. Ultion aims to build a vertically integrated domestic battery manufacturing ecosystem to ensure that a greater share of this economic value remains in the U.S. rather than overseas markets.
