Fidelity Investments, the renowned financial services company, has taken a significant stride into the digital asset world with the launch of its first tokenized Treasury fund, the Fidelity Treasury Digital Fund (symbol: FYHXX). The fund, which began operations in August 2025, is actively priced and yielding returns as of the same month[1][2].

The "Digital" in the fund's name signifies its integration with digital or tokenized asset technologies, aligning with Fidelity's ambition to innovate in the digital asset sector. The fund focuses on liquidity, offering a stable Net Asset Value (NAV) of $1.00 and a recent yield around 4.15%[1][2].

Daily pricing and performance figures are regularly published, confirming the fund's active status. The fund's yield and NAV have remained steady, reflecting typical treasury money market fund characteristics but apparently enhanced with digital asset capabilities[1][2]. The fund documentation and daily pricing files as of early August 2025 confirm ongoing operations without any indication of delay or cancellation[1][2].

In the growing market of tokenized Treasuries, which currently has a total market capitalization approaching $5 billion, Fidelity's entry marks a notable move towards digital assets. BlackRock's BUIDL remains the market leader with a market capitalization of $1.4 billion, but Fidelity's entry is expected to shake up the market dynamics[3].

The initial stages of Fidelity Treasury Digital Fund require tokens to be held via the Fidelity wallet, with potential for secondary trading in the future. The SEC registration statement for the fund specifies the use of the Ethereum blockchain for transactions, with conventional records for primary ownership that will be reconciled daily[4].

Fidelity is not new to the world of digital assets, but its sister company, Fidelity International, has shown a stronger lean towards tokenization. Interestingly, Ondo Finance, a business solicited by Fidelity, has its OUSG fund primarily composed of other tokenized funds like BUIDL, Franklin Templeton's FOBXX, and WisdomTree's WTGXX[5]. Ondo also has $75 million invested in a Fidelity fund, which is not tokenized and was first invested in mid-February[6].

Ethena Labs' USDtb stablecoin uses over $1 billion of its total reserves for tokenized Treasuries, further demonstrating the growing interest in this sector[7]. With Fidelity's entry, it is evident that the tokenization of Treasuries is gaining momentum and is set to revolutionize the financial industry.
