Ferrovial Expands Texas Renewable Energy Footprint with 250MW Solar Plant
Ferrovial, a multinational infrastructure company, is expanding its renewable energy footprint in Texas. It plans to build a 250MW solar photovoltaic (PV) facility in Milam County, aiming to supply electricity to the Texas grid and stimulate local economic growth. The project is set to create nearly 300 jobs during construction.
The facility, once completed, will generate around 450GWh of electricity annually, enough to power approximately 43,000 homes. Ferrovial will oversee the construction, operation, and maintenance of the plant, which is expected to be operational by 2027. The project is estimated to cost around $355m, including debt financing.
Ferrovial's expansion in Texas complements its existing 257MW DC plant in Leon County. Recently, the company neared completion of a 72MW PV plant in the Houston area for its client, X-Elio. This latest project in Milam County further bolsters Ferrovial's energy portfolio in the region.
The 250MW solar PV facility in Milam County, Texas, is set to contribute significantly to the state's renewable energy capacity. With a substantial investment and job creation, Ferrovial continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable energy and local economic development in the region.
