Expanding Indian gaming market platform, PlaySuper secures a million-dollar funding for its rewards-based service expansion
PlaySuper, a gaming platform that embeds real-world rewards directly into mobile games, has successfully secured $1 million in a seed funding round. The funding round was led by Singapore-based gaming VC Chimera, with participation from Audacity VC, IAN Capital Fund, and Dhruv Vohra, Meta's Managing Director for APAC Emerging Markets.
Founded by Shouradeep Chakraborty (CEO), Upamanyu Chatterjee (COO), and Abhir Das (CBO), PlaySuper aims to revolutionise gaming commerce as the next significant monetization unlock for emerging markets. The startup's goal is to drive higher retention and engagement for game studios, while ensuring a seamless gaming experience for players.
Abhir Das, Co-founder & CBO of PlaySuper, stated that their model keeps users engaged and drives commerce at scale by offering aspirational and real rewards in every gaming session. Instead of relying on intrusive ads or volatile cash incentives, PlaySuper enables players to earn branded rewards. The earned rewards can include gift cards and consumer products.
Chimera views PlaySuper as a category-defining solution that intersects gaming, brands, and consumer behaviour. Krish Anurag, General Partner at Chimera, believes that PlaySuper's early traction proves the model and positions the startup well to become the backbone of monetization for free-to-play and skill-based games across India and Southeast Asia. Krish Anurag also sees gaming commerce as the next significant monetization unlock for emerging markets.
Early partners of PlaySuper have reported significant improvements in user retention and monetization. PlaySuper helps free-to-play and skill-based titles unlock sustainable monetization without disrupting gameplay. The platform aims to expand its rewards-as-a-service model across India and Southeast Asia.
PlaySuper has reportedly crossed $350,000 in monthly GMV (Gross Merchandise Value). The startup's success is a testament to the growing demand for innovative gaming solutions that offer a win-win scenario for both game studios and players. With the recent funding, PlaySuper is poised to scale its operations and continue to redefine the gaming landscape.
