ETF Market Surges in August 2025 with North America and US Funds Leading

August 2025 witnessed notable growth in the Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) market, with substantial net inflows across various regions and categories.

North America took the lead with the highest estimated net flows into ETFs, totaling +$125.2 billion. Ireland also attracted a substantial amount, with $23.3 billion in net inflows. In terms of specific categories, Equity US ETFs were the top performers, drawing in +$43.4 billion.

Examining domicile, ETFs based in the US had the highest net flows, with +$118.2 billion. Europe followed closely, with $2.7 trillion in assets under management (AUM), making it the second-largest region. Notably, Ireland, within Europe, is the largest single domicile, with $1.9 trillion in AUM.

Worldwide, the ETF industry saw net inflows of +$159.7 billion in August 2025. Equity ETFs were particularly popular, with net inflows of +$85.3 billion. iShares was the top ETF promoter, with +$45.2 billion in net inflows.

The ETF market in August 2025 was dominated by net inflows into North American and Irish funds, with Equity US ETFs and those domiciled in the US leading the way. The global industry saw significant growth, with equity ETFs and iShares being particularly popular.
