Enhanced vulnerability detection and management through Qualys Platform enhancement, strengthening its Extended Advanced SCM (SCM) capabilities.
Qualys, a leading provider of cloud-based security and compliance solutions, has announced a new release aimed at enhancing asset discovery, risk management, and false positive reduction.
The new release introduces several significant improvements, including a more efficient risk management system with a reduced number of false positives. This is achieved through the new version's industry-leading vulnerability detection accuracy, which reduces false positives by 60%.
One of the key features of the new release is the enhanced asset discovery capabilities. With passive sensing built into the Qualys agent, the solution can identify unmanaged IoT/OT devices in the internal network, as well as uncover an additional 34% and 6% of assets, respectively. This makes it easier for organisations to discover all assets from subsidiaries, mergers, and acquisitions.
The new release also provides a unified inventory of assets, thanks to the integration of third-party connectors that complement the Qualys sensors. These connectors expand the scanning capabilities, allowing for real-time identification of previously unknown assets in the internal network.
Organisations can also use this release to scan previously unknown assets for vulnerabilities and compliance issues. The Qualys agent's passive sensing identifies these assets in real time, ensuring that no potential risks are overlooked.
The new release further improves the confidence scoring for asset attribution, making it easier for organisations to understand the risks associated with each asset. This is particularly useful in the context of subsidiaries, mergers, and acquisitions, where accurate asset attribution is crucial.
Currently, over 10,000 subscription customers worldwide use Qualys solutions for internal and external security and compliance checks of their assets. This includes a majority of Forbes Global 100 and Fortune 100 companies across various sectors.
In summary, the new release from Qualys offers organisations a more comprehensive and efficient solution for asset discovery, risk management, and compliance checks. By reducing false positives, improving vulnerability detection accuracy, and expanding asset discovery capabilities, this release is set to revolutionise the way organisations manage their security and compliance.
