Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Showcases Expanded Electric Refrigeration Units Portfolio at NUFAM 2023

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Transport Europe GmbH (MTTE) is making a significant stride in the commercial vehicle industry by showcasing its expanded portfolio of full-electric refrigeration units at NUFAM in Karlsruhe. This new range of units, designed with an emphasis on natural refrigerants and energy efficiency, aims to support emission-free transport solutions and sustainable logistics practices across Europe.

The new portfolio includes the TMEVX series, which utilizes natural refrigerants to provide refrigeration, significantly reducing environmental impact while enhancing energy savings and operational efficiency. This focus on green technology aligns with stricter environmental regulations in Europe and supports the goal of minimizing greenhouse gas emissions associated with traditional refrigerants.

Key features of these expanded electric refrigeration units include the use of natural refrigerants, enhanced energy efficiency through advanced refrigeration cycle designs, modular and compact unit designs suitable for various commercial vehicles, and compliance with emission regulations promoting green logistics and sustainable supply chains.

The benefits of this portfolio expansion are threefold. First, it improves environmental performance for refrigerated transport. Second, it reduces operational costs due to energy savings. Lastly, it contributes to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ broader commitment to zero-emission mobility and climate action targets.

In addition to the TMEVX series, MTTE is debuting several new products at NUFAM 2023. These include the TEF 1500, a new full-electric trailer refrigeration unit, and the TEU, a new full-electric underfloor refrigeration unit for trucks. A MAN tractor with the new TEU machine is also on display.

MTTE's electrification strategy is aimed at enabling locally emission-free refrigerated transport, especially in urban and regional distribution traffic. To support this, the company is increasing its focus on electrifying all equipment classes in Europe, from vans to trailers, and expanding its service network and product availability in Europe.

Björn Reckhorn, MTTE Managing Director, stated that the company's portfolio meets the demand for economical and environmentally friendly solutions for transport refrigeration. The new electric product lines from MTTE are aimed at transport companies that want to decarbonize their fleets.
