Electric SUV Showdown: Vinfast VF6 or MG Windsor EV - Your Choice Revealed
The British-born MG Windsor EV and the Vietnamese newcomer, VinFast VF6, are making waves in India's mid-range electric vehicle (EV) market. The MG Windsor EV, with its established network of dealers and workshops in India, has positioned itself as a familiar nameplate in the Indian EV story. Priced starting from ₹13.99 lakh, the Windsor EV offers more practical usability with features like V2L (Vehicle to Load) capability and connected car technology. The base model boasts a 55 kWh battery with a range of up to 400 km, while the Windsor EV Pro variant, priced at ₹17.24 lakh and above, offers a choice of 52.9 kWh or 38 kWh batteries, with the Pro model claiming a range of up to 449 km. Higher trims of the Windsor EV also feature an "infinity-view" panoramic roof and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). On the other hand, the VinFast VF6, launched in India on September 6, 2025, at their Thoothukudi facility, is making its mark in the mid-range EV segment. The VF6 is available in three trim levels: Earth, Wind, and Infinity, all equipped with a 59.6 kWh battery offering a range of about 475 km (ARAI rating). The starting price for the VF6 in India is approximately ₹16.5 lakh (1.65 million INR). Global specifications suggest a balanced performance for the VF6, but the battery capacity, range, and other technical specifications for the Indian market have not been officially disclosed. The VinFast VF6's higher trims overlap with the price range of the MG Windsor EV Pro, making for an interesting comparison. The VF6 offers a range of around 468 km, according to the manufacturer's claims. Both models are vying for the attention of discerning EV buyers with their unique features and competitive pricing. As the Indian EV market continues to grow, it will be interesting to see how these two contenders fare in the long run. For now, both the MG Windsor EV and the VinFast VF6 offer compelling choices for those looking to make the switch to electric vehicles.
