In a significant visit on August 30, 2024, Rhineland-Palatinate's Minister for Economic Affairs and Tourism, Daniela Schmitt, paid a personal visit to the Raiffeisen print shop in Neuwied. The Raiffeisen print shop, a daughter company of DG Nexolution eG, has a long tradition and strong innovative power, making it a global player in the production of payment cards and customer cards made from various materials.

Founded in 1881 by Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen, the Raiffeisen print shop has evolved from a printing business of rural cooperatives to a technology company for innovative payment systems. Today, the company specializes in card systems and personalization solutions for the cooperative financial group and beyond.

During her visit, Minister Schmitt was given a tour of the industrial production of debit and credit cards made from various materials, including the Timbercard, a wooden payment card that the Raiffeisen print shop has invested in to meet the growing demand. The Timbercard is made from FSC-certified wood from Europe and contributes to the reduction of plastic.

Marco Rummer, CEO of the Raiffeisen print shop and CEO of DG Nexolution, and Claudius Pawliczek, Head of Products & Operations, warmly welcomed Minister Schmitt during her visit. As a sign of appreciation for her support of regional economic initiatives, Minister Schmitt received her own Timbercard.

Minister Schmitt showed interest in DG Nexolution eG as a medium-sized partner in the region. The Raiffeisen print shop is also taking steps towards sustainability, with a two-hectare solar park being completed to enable the use of solar energy for the operation of the facilities in the future.
