In a move to address user feedback and improve the performance of its portable power solution, DJI has launched an updated version of the Power 1000, dubbed the Power 1000 V2. The new model offers several key improvements, including faster charging times, increased continuous power output, and enhanced reliability and safety features.

Adam Juniper, a tech journalist with over 20 years of expertise and the resident expert on camera drones and drone photography at Digital Camera World, has praised the Power 1000 V2. Known for authoring several books, including The Complete Guide to Drones and The Drone Pilot's Handbook, Juniper has highlighted the Power 1000 V2's significant advancements.

One of the most notable improvements is the increased continuous power output, which now stands at 2,600 W, providing a more stable and reliable power supply for connected devices. This is an improvement over the original Power 1000's 2,200W. The Power 1000 V2 can charge a phone approximately 57 times, according to the company, and can power high-power devices like coffee makers.

The Power 1000 V2 also boasts faster charging times. It can now charge from 0% to 100% in a shorter time compared to the original Power 1000, with the battery reaching 80% in 37 minutes and full in 56 minutes via traditional plugging in, solar, or car. The Power 1000 V2 can charge certain DJI batteries in around 30 minutes, a significant reduction from the original model.

Ferdinand Wolf, DJI's Product Experience Director, emphasized that these upgrades come from listening to user needs and providing the latest technology for continuous power demands, faster charging, and improved overall user experience. The Power 1000 V2 retains a high battery capacity of 1024 Wh and weighs 14.2 kg, maintaining portability while boosting performance.

The Power 1000 V2 also features more AC outlets available for different regions (China, North America & Japan), expanding its usability. Additionally, it offers enhanced reliability and safety features, including an improved intelligent Battery Management System (BMS) with a new potting process to protect the inverter. The product also defaults to UPS mode, acting as an Uninterruptible Power Supply with a 0.01-second delay.

Remote control via the DJI Home app allows easier management and monitoring of the power station. The Power 1000 V2 caters to drone users, using separately sold charging cables for the fastest possible charging of certain DJI models.

The Power 1000 V2 is available on Amazon USA for $417 and Amazon UK for £469. DJI has also recently announced a new DJI Power 2000, promising even more power and advanced features for those with even greater power needs. With its improved performance, enhanced safety features, and faster charging times, the Power 1000 V2 offers a smarter, more efficient, and user-friendly portable power solution.
