Discussed city council of Astana on budget investment project implementations
At the recent working meeting of the city's maslikhat, key directions for the Management of Economy and Budget Planning for 2025 were discussed. The meeting, chaired by Tabigat Zeinulkabden, focused on various planned projects, including those involving Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs).
One of the major PPP projects under consideration is the development of Industrial Park No.2. This project aims to boost industrial capacity by creating modern infrastructure, attracting investors, and stimulating economic growth. The project involves the construction of manufacturing facilities, logistics hubs, and utility networks, with both local government and private enterprises sharing investment, risk, and management responsibilities.
Another priority project is the upgrading and expansion of electrical networks in the residential areas named 'Industry' and 'Railway'. These efforts aim to improve power reliability, capacity, and efficiency to meet growing residential demand. The PPP framework will enable the mobilization of private sector technology and financing to modernize the grid infrastructure, including the installation of smart meters and implementing energy management systems.
A cutting-edge initiative was also introduced: an AI-driven infrastructure management system for Astana. This system aims to enhance monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of city services, including utilities, transportation, and public safety. AI analytics will enable predictive maintenance and efficient resource allocation, making city services more efficient and effective. This project involves collaboration between technology firms and city authorities to integrate AI tools within existing infrastructure.
Several complementary infrastructure projects related to water supply, waste management, and public transport were also discussed. These projects are designed to improve urban living standards and sustainability, structured under PPP formats to leverage private sector innovation and efficiency.
The meeting also considered the structure of tax revenues from both the republican and local budgets, as well as the replenishment of the authorized capital, which was identified as a priority task.
The reported discussion included the accompaniment of the implementation of budget investment projects, with a strategic focus on PPPs to inject capital, expertise, and innovation into key infrastructure sectors, thereby supporting the city’s growth and modernization objectives in 2025. The meeting was reported by our website, and the chairman of the city's maslikhat, Tabigat Zeinulkabden, also shared the news on Instagram.
