De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited (De Havilland Canada) has announced an exciting new feature for its Dash 8-400 aircraft. The company has partnered with Starlink to offer in-flight internet access, marking the first time this service will be available on a De Havilland Canada aircraft.

The Starlink in-flight internet option will be available as a 'factory option' or retrofit solution for both new and in-service Dash 8-400 aircraft. Installation will cause minimal downtime, ensuring that operators can quickly benefit from this new service.

The first Dash 8-400 aircraft to be equipped with Starlink will be operated by Widerøe, a Norwegian regional airline. This move highlights the suitability of the Dash 8-400 for equipping with reliable satellite internet technology. Customers can expect their Dash 8-400 fleets to be equipped with this service starting in 2024, as initial installations begin around that time.

The Dash 8-400 aircraft will offer seamless, gate-to-gate internet access, even in remote or underserved regions, enhancing the regional flying experience.
