Daktronics Illuminates Foreign Territories in Display Showcase

In recent developments, Daktronics, a leading manufacturer of electronic scoreboards, digital billboards, and other LED displays, has partnered with Open Media to introduce cutting-edge LED displays in various cities around the globe.

Floating Displays in Dubai

Three custom oval-shaped displays, each measuring approximately 9.28x18.25 meters, have been brought online at major thoroughfares in Dubai. The displays, designed to appear as if they are hanging or floating in the air, feature a 10mm pixel spacing for bright, crisp imagery. They also boast a marble foundation and a steel design for easy assembly and disassembly, making them a sustainable choice for urban environments.

Sustainable Digital Signage in Liverpool

In Liverpool, Daktronics and Open Media have partnered to install a new LED display at BOXPARK Liverpool, the first BOXPARK location outside of London. The digital screen, measuring 6.08 meters high by 16.32 meters wide, replaces a static banner with the flexibility of digital signage.

Energy-Efficient Technology

Daktronics' displays are known for their energy-efficient LED technology and environmental protection standards. The displays in Dubai and Liverpool, for instance, are designed to conserve energy by powering down between midnight and 6 a.m. as part of Open Media's "Power Down Initiative."

Additionally, Daktronics has partnered with UniLED to offer a carbon calculator solution that enables brands to track and offset emissions from advertising campaigns. The company's EcoSmart technology, integrated into their product designs, features hardware upgrades, blue light reduction, high contrast louvers, intelligent content detection, and sleep mode, all aimed at minimizing power consumption and promoting sustainability.

International Projects

Daktronics has several upcoming projects and installations internationally and domestically, focusing on advanced LED display solutions that enhance fan experiences and smart city applications. Notable upcoming projects include the installation of 36 Daktronics LED displays in Riyadh Municipality roadways, supporting smart city upgrades and traffic information systems in Saudi Arabia.

Enhancing Sports Venues

Domestically, Daktronics is also enhancing major sports venues, such as the University of Tennessee's Food City Center, where a new 11-display centerhung LED system is being installed. The displays, designed to entertain and inform fans, will allow multiple zones displaying live video, stats, replays, and advertisements.

Women In Sports Online Event

On a different note, Daktronics is hosting its seventh Women In Sports Online Event on August 13, 2024. The event will feature Christina Hundley, athletic director at Paradise Valley Community College, who brings over 10 years of experience in athletic direction and leadership roles in various sports.

These initiatives reflect Daktronics’ broad focus on enhancing fan engagement through flexible, high-quality visual displays, supporting international urban technology modernization, and incorporating energy-conscious design principles inherent to LED display manufacturing and operation. While specific eco-friendly features are not detailed in these project announcements, Daktronics’ use of efficient LED technology and modern controls suggests ongoing commitment to sustainable digital display solutions in diverse global markets.
