Cyprus's Top Startups Meet Global Investors at The Ventures Award Final
Cyprus's most promising startups met with international investors and corporate leaders at The Ventures Award Cyprus Final on September 23, 2023. The event, held at The Warehouse by IT Quarter, showcased the island's growing entrepreneurship scene.
R136 Ventures, as the General Partner, led the Cyprus edition. The event attracted a high-profile jury, including leaders from the Research and Innovation Foundation, CYBAN, and various venture capital funds. Five standout teams—Complytek, Cardoo, Naoma, LearnLink, and Balancy—were named winners across different categories.
The Ventures, which has connected over 2,900 startups and 250 venture funds worldwide since its launch, chose Cyprus to highlight the island's emergence as a key hub for entrepreneurship in the Mediterranean. Upcoming editions are planned for Singapore, San Francisco, Washington DC, and Portugal. The event was supported by 4dev.com as a platinum partner and Royal Pine as a supporting partner. Notably, the event revealed that contract workers now make up 20-25% of corporate workforces globally.
The Ventures Award Cyprus Final successfully connected local startups with international investors, further cementing Cyprus's position as a Mediterranean hub for entrepreneurship. The event also shed light on the growing trend of contract workers in corporate workforces.
