Company Acquires Satori Cyber to Enhance Data Security Solutions
In an exciting development, cyber resilience and data protection solutions provider Commvault has announced its plans to acquire Satori Cyber, a data and AI security company. The acquisition, expected to be finalized in August 2025, is set to significantly enhance data security and AI adoption in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Satori brings cloud-native, agentless innovations for data security and AI-aware protection and recovery to the table. With Satori's technology, Commvault aims to mitigate security and privacy risks for its clients, offering a unified approach to securing sensitive data and AI pipelines.
The integration of Satori's technology will enable secure data access, AI governance, and policy enforcement across platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric. Satori's multi-cloud data activity monitoring, data discovery, and policy enforcement controls will enhance Commvault's ability to help clients simplify compliance efforts.
According to Rajiv Kottomtharayil, Chief Product Officer at Commvault, the next-generation AI capabilities will offer deeper visibility, tighter access control, and smarter governance for sensitive data and AI pipelines. The acquisition strategically positions Commvault as a leader in integrating AI security with data protection, helping enterprises securely harness AI across hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures with comprehensive visibility and policy enforcement.
The acquisition will also expand Commvault's cyber resilience platform beyond unstructured data protection to cover structured data and AI layers. Satori's technology includes features for monitoring large language models (LLMs) and automating the management of structured data. This will allow automated discovery, classification, masking, and policy enforcement of data in motion without agents, supporting compliance and risk mitigation critical for enterprises adopting AI at scale.
Eldad Chai, CEO and Co-Founder of Satori, affirms that the acquisition will strengthen Commvault's capacity to help enterprises with data and AI security complexities. The integration aims to reduce risk and drive compliant innovation, enhancing Commvault's ability to help enterprises address challenges in AI adoption, data growth, and regulatory compliance in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
