cimt AG Launches Korasoft: Bridging BIM and CAFM in SAP

Hamburg-based cimt AG has introduced Korasoft, a revolutionary tool that bridges the gap between Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) in SAP environments. This web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution ensures the availability of crucial object information in three stages, enriching data to close remaining gaps in facility management.

Korasoft works fully three-dimensionally, enabling complex systems like elevator networks to be seamlessly integrated. It identifies and classifies recurring parts in BIM models, such as fire-resistant doors, using advanced filter functions. The tool focuses on enriching objects with necessary information for facility management, which can be found in the BIM model.

The solution imports BIM data for CAFM in SAP via a webservice in three steps: filtering, identifying given properties, and defining properties to be supplemented. Only around 15 target attributes from the BIM model are typically needed for maintenance in SAP. cimt AG, part of the Planon ecosystem, offers SAP integration combined with innovative AI capabilities for seamless Planon IWMS & CAFM implementation in SAP environments.

Korasoft, developed by cimt AG, automates the process of enriching customer data to close data gaps in facility management. It ensures that important information, usually maintained as key IDs, is accessible and useful. The tool can even handle special cases that might be overlooked in a classic CAFM system, making it a valuable addition to SAP environments.
