In a significant move to simplify and centralize access request processes, Okta Identity Governance has launched the Unified Requester Experience. This new feature is now in Early Availability for all Okta Identity Governance customers [1].

The Unified Requester Experience aims to provide a seamless self-service experience for both admins and end-users. Admins can now build and customize Access Requests using Request Conditions or custom Request Flows, offering flexibility and scalability in managing access [1]. On the other hand, end-users can initiate access requests from various platforms such as the Okta dashboard, Slack, or Microsoft Teams, making the process intuitive and consistent across different channels [1].

This unified approach provides several benefits. For admins, it allows them to design access policies that maintain a strong security posture and prevent standing privileges. For end-users, it significantly reduces friction and wait times in obtaining the access they need, providing swifter and more transparent access to critical tools [1].

The broad use cases covered by Request Conditions and custom Request Flows will continue to be offered. Users can also enable self-service features, further streamlining the access request process [2]. The build experience for admins is being streamlined, making it easier to configure requests [3].

It is important to note that the Unified Requester Experience is not intended to be legal, privacy, security, compliance, or business advice [4]. For more information, users can connect with one of Okta's specialists [5].

Lastly, Request Types will be rebranded to custom Request Flows, reflecting the increased flexibility and customization offered by this new feature [6]. Okta is further investing in the Unified Access Request experience for both admins and requesters, promising continued improvements and enhancements in the future.
