Celo Integrates Nightfall for Private B2B Stablecoin Transactions
Celo, a mobile-first blockchain focused on global payments, has integrated Nightfall, a privacy layer application, to expand its role in enterprise B2B transactions. This move enables secure, cost-efficient, and private financial transactions using stablecoins like USDT and USDC.
Nightfall, the first payments-oriented blockchain development from Celo, uses Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) technology for private transfers of multiple token standards, including ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155, and ERC-3525. This integration positions Celo as a leader in the enterprise B2B payments sector, forecast to reach over $180 trillion in cross-border flows.
Celo already has over 500,000 daily active users and $2 billion monthly stablecoin volume, with adoption in over 150 countries. The Celo Foundation launched Nightfall as an open-source application on the Celo network, bringing enterprise-level privacy features to its global mobile-first infrastructure. Rene Reinsberg, Celo's Co-Founder and President of the Celo Foundation, highlighted the significance of Nightfall in enabling private B2B transactions using stablecoins.
With Nightfall, Celo now supports private B2B transactions using stablecoins like USDT and USDC, with support for gas fee abstraction in ERC-20 tokens. This integration further strengthens Celo's position as a leading platform for secure, cost-efficient, and private global payments, serving both individuals and enterprises.
