Capcom Experiences Shortage of Breaking Glasses for Monster Hunter Wilds, Plans to Enhance PC Performance This Winter with Comprehensive Strategy

Capcom's popular action-RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds, has been facing performance issues on PC since its launch earlier this year. The company has announced a significant winter update, Free Title Update 4, aimed at addressing these concerns.

The update will bring a multifaceted performance overhaul, targeting both CPU and GPU problems. It will be deployed in two stages: the first delivering the main optimization fixes, followed by additional measures to ensure stability and performance. Unlike previous patches, this update will have a lighter content load, featuring only one new monster and some tougher hunts, without new weapon changes or reward systems.

The performance issues in Monster Hunter Wilds have been noticeable after a few dozen hours of gameplay and have been a source of frustration for players. Capcom acknowledges the difficulty in reducing CPU load without worsening other performance aspects, due to the game’s architecture. The company advises players to adjust frame rate limits according to their hardware to manage CPU usage effectively.

Smaller optimization updates will be released in the weeks leading up to the winter update to gradually improve PC performance. Capcom is committed to listening to player feedback and improving the performance and stability of Monster Hunter Wilds on PC.

To ensure the best possible experience, Capcom recommends the following hardware for Monster Hunter Wilds:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • Motherboard: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi
  • RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 32 GB DDR5-7200
  • Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 9070
  • SSD: WD_Black SN7100

Harvey Randall, a freelance writer for several gaming publications, has been following Monster Hunter Wilds closely. In his offline activities, he plays a variety of tabletop RPGs and has a preference for RPGs, soulslikes, roguelikes, deckbuilders, MMOs, and indie titles. He has a significant interest in Final Fantasy 14 and G'raha Tia.

It remains to be seen whether Capcom's winter performance overhaul will be too little, too late. The series stakes its claim on endgame grinding, making the performance issues a significant problem. The improvements will be closely watched by players, who are eager for a more stable and enjoyable experience.
