Brutalist Icon & Modern Gems: New Series Spotlights Remarkable Homes

A rare opportunity to peek inside a Brutalist masterpiece has emerged, as a duplex apartment in Le Corbusier's Cité Radieuse in Marseille hits the market. Meanwhile, a new monthly series, The Architecture Edit, has launched to shine a spotlight on remarkable houses from around the globe.

The series kicked off with Richard Neutra's Case Study House #20, a modernist gem that recently went on sale in Los Angeles. In Tokyo, the enigmatic Stealth House by Apollo Architects captivates with its monolithic concrete exterior. Across the pond, the Norton House by Buff, Straub & Hensman, a midcentury gem, has also come on the market in Pasadena.

In Scotland, Mallett's Black and Stone project reimagines a derelict 1930s farmer's cottage, blending heritage conservation with contemporary design. Meanwhile, Casa Piscina del Cielo by Zozaya Arquitectos clings dramatically to the Pacific coast near Zihuatanejo. Lastly, while the architect remains unknown, Bay House on the north coast of Devon, designed by McLean Quinlan, is a robust and elegant modern home nestled into the coastline.

These striking properties, showcased through The Architecture Edit, offer a glimpse into the diverse world of modern architectural design. From Brutalist icons to contemporary coastal retreats, each home tells a unique story.
