Boris FX at NAB 2022: Unveiling of New Products, Faster Performance, and Visual Effects Exhibitions

The Boris FX Suite is set to make its in-person debut at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas, Nevada, from April 23-27, 2022. This year's update brings significant improvements, new creative tools, and performance boosts across Sapphire, Continuum, Mocha Pro, Silhouette, and Optics.

Sapphire 2022, a highlight of this year's update, introduces the innovative S_ColorFuse effect. This LUT-based grade creates cinematic colour grades by blending up to three LUTs with adjustable blends and opacities. The effect supports accurate colour space management with OCIO standards and is fully GPU-accelerated, supporting CUDA, Metal, and Apple M1 processors.

Another notable addition to Sapphire 2022 is the integration of Mocha planar tracking and spline-based tools within S_UltraZap's interface. This expansion allows users to create and animate tracked splines directly or import from Mocha Pro/AE projects, enhancing the creative possibilities across host applications.

Performance improvements are also a key focus, with Sapphire 2022 boasting faster speeds and shorter render times in Adobe After Effects, due to enhanced multi-frame rendering support. Over 300 new curated presets have been added, modernising the preset library and replacing many older ones to better suit current artistic needs.

Continuum 2022 sees the addition of GPU-accelerated blur effects, improving rendering speed and efficiency. It also includes over 60 new colour grades inspired by popular film and TV looks, as well as AI-powered tools to enhance effects and workflows.

Mocha Pro 2022.5 (technology preview) offers pre-processing controls to solve complex shots, updated lens calibration tools, right-click Surface controls, GStreamer support for Apple's latest M1 silicon hardware, improved 360/VR for immersive video creators, and optimised native Apple M1 support.

The Boris FX Suite combines Boris FX's award-winning plugins into a cost-effective bundle, supporting popular host applications, including Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, Avid, and OFX hosts Autodesk, Blackmagic Design, Foundry, and VEGAS Pro.

A limited-time sale is running from now through Friday, April 29th, at midnight PDT, offering up to 50% off everything Boris FX offers. The sale is limited to one new product purchase per customer.

Visitors to NAB can also catch Boris FX product team members at partner AMD's Booth #N1015, demonstrating the Boris FX Suite's significant speed improvements when used in combination with the latest release of Adobe After Effects and AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO Processors.
