Boris FX Continuum 2021.5: Enhanced Particle Effects and Streamlined Integration

Boris FX has unveiled Continuum 2021.5, a mid-year update that focuses on improving Particle Illusion and its integration with Adobe and Avid platforms. This update brings better GPU acceleration and an enhanced user interface to Particle Illusion, making particle effect creation more efficient and visually richer within Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer.

The update includes new features such as Emitter Presets in the Particle Illusion Emitter Library, a Node View for easier parameter navigation, and more robust Particle Illusion controls with fully 3D functionality. These enhancements aim to provide a smoother and more intuitive user experience.

In addition to the improvements in Particle Illusion, Continuum 2021.5 also offers updated transitions, titling tools (Title Studio), and improved compatibility that streamlines workflows between these video editing systems.

The 2021.5 release also emphasizes performance upgrades and usability across host apps, which include Adobe and Avid products, as well as OFX hosts like Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve, Foundry Nuke, and VEGAS Pro. For example, the inclusion of Boris FX Continuum 2021.5 Title Studio and Transitions units as add-ons highlights expanded creative tools tailored for professional editors using these platforms.

The Sapphire 2021.5 update, released alongside Continuum 2021.5, also added revamped LensFlare and Flare Designer tools, indicating a broader focus on enhancing visual effects and compositing features within Boris FX suites for Adobe and OFX hosts.

New creative effects added in Continuum 2021.5 include BCC+Multi-Star, BCC+Vignette, BCC+FilmGrunge, BCC+TwoStrip, BCC+Flashing, BCC+Composite, BCC+F-Stop, BCC+Fluorescent, and BCC+Haze.

The Boris FX product team will host a live stream for an exclusive first look at Continuum 2021.5 on June 23, 2021, at 5:00 pm EDT/2:00 pm PDT. The live stream can be watched on socialslive.com.
