Bitmain and BitFuFu Agree on Up to 80,000 Cryptocurrency Miners Purchase Deal
In a significant move towards global expansion, BitFuFu has announced a two-year partnership with Bitmain, the world’s largest ASIC miner manufacturer, for the purchase of up to 80,000 S-series miners. This strategic alliance includes the acquisition of a Bitcoin mining operation in Ethiopia, with a capacity of 80 MW.
The Ethiopian mining operation, acquired in October, will likely contribute to BitFuFu's aim of reaching 1 GW of mining power by the end of 2026. The miners to be acquired include the S21 XP and S21 Pro models, the latest additions to Bitmain's S-series devices.
This partnership ensures BitFuFu clients access to the latest industrial-grade mining equipment with high efficiency. BitFuFu leverages this partnership to provide direct hash power contracts backed by Bitmain hardware, ensuring reliability and cutting-edge performance for cloud mining customers.
Clients benefit from transparent pricing, flexible contract durations (ranging from 30 to 180 days), and automatic payouts, which enhance user experience and trust. BitFuFu is recognised for using recent generation equipment, having been among the first to release advanced models like the S19 XP in 2022, and continues this technology edge with the S21 series miners procured via this partnership.
The acquisition in Ethiopia is one of BitFuFu's moves to expand its global operations. The deal is expected to help BitFuFu deliver top-notch, cost-effective Bitcoin mining solutions. The close strategic partnership between BitFuFu and Bitmain ensures a steady supply of new miners, including the S21 XP and S21 Pro models.
The deal was made with the aim of rapidly scaling BitFuFu's global infrastructure. In October, Bitmain introduced two new models of its Antminer S21 series for Bitcoin mining. The acquisition is likely to aid in rapidly scaling BitFuFu's global infrastructure.
The agreement was announced on January 2, 2025, and no detailed financial terms or exact delivery schedules of the 80,000 miners were disclosed in the available sources. However, the collaboration clearly focuses on long-term supply and upgrade of Bitmain’s latest S-series miners for BitFuFu’s mining operations and clients.
With this strategic partnership and the acquisition of the Ethiopian mining operation, BitFuFu reaffirms its position as a trusted and reputable cloud mining platform with global mining facilities, allowing both professional and first-time miners to engage via a simple process.
