BenQ Unveils Two Innovative Projectors, Revolutionizing Home Entertainment Spaces into Cinematic Experiences
BenQ Unveils Two New Laser Projectors: LK830ST and LH830ST
BenQ, a leading manufacturer of projectors, has announced the release of two new models – the LK830ST and LH830ST. These short-throw laser projectors are designed for different specialized applications, offering unique features and differences.
Both projectors boast a brightness of 4,000 ANSI lumens, ensuring clear and vibrant images even in well-lit rooms. The LK830ST has a short-throw ratio of 0.496, while the LH830ST slightly deviates but remains close, with a ratio around 0.50. Both projectors cover 93% of the Rec. 709 color space and support up to 120 Hz for smooth motion.
In terms of durability, both projectors are IP6X certified, offering complete dust protection. The laser light source can last up to 30,000 hours in Eco mode for both models.
The key difference between the two lies in their resolution and application focus. The LK830ST offers native 4K UHD resolution at 3840 x 2160 pixels, making it ideal for simulation environments such as golf simulators, interactive classrooms, and museum installations. On the other hand, the LH830ST provides Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels, focusing on decorative projection applications.
The LK830ST is designed with 360-degree installation flexibility, allowing it to be mounted in any orientation, including portrait mode, which is particularly useful for unique simulation setups. It also features a contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1, beneficial for its simulation applications.
The LH830ST, meanwhile, offers house mapping features such as a 116% projection offset and a dual color wheel system optimized for wide color gamut.
European pricing for the LK830ST is €2,399, while the LH830ST costs €1,899, both including VAT. Some European retailers are taking pre-orders for the LK830ST at €1,999 and LH830ST starting around €1,584.
Connectivity includes HDMI ports, LAN connections, USB inputs, RS-232 interfaces, and Wi-Fi. Both models support vertical scan rates from 23 to 240 Hz and horizontal frequencies from 15 to 135 KHz. Each model features a built-in 15W speaker and over-the-air firmware update capability.
Optional dust filter housings are available for harsh environments, and both projectors come with a built-in 15W speaker. The manufacturers will officially release both models in September 2025, but US pricing and release dates have not been announced yet.
In summary, the choice between these two projectors depends on the intended use case—high-resolution simulations (LK830ST) or decorative projections (LH830ST). Both projectors offer durability, brightness, and color accuracy, making them suitable for various professional applications.
The new BenQ projectors, LK830ST and LH830ST, showcase advanced technology with unique features tailored for different events and specialized applications, such as simulation environments and decorative projections. These tools are designed to deliver clear images with high brightness, vibrant colors, and smooth motion, thanks to their short-throw capabilities, wide color gamut support, and high frame rates.
