Automotive company chief shares clip of L90 model undergoing autonomous self-inspection before sales launch in three days
In a bid to boost its market presence, Nio's sub-brand Onvo has set an ambitious sales target for the fourth quarter of 2025. The goal is to achieve **monthly sales of 25,000 units** across all three Onvo models - the L60, L80, and L90.
The highly anticipated L90, Onvo's flagship SUV, is set to make its debut in showrooms starting July 10th, at 10 am Beijing Time. This follows the disappointing sales performance of the L60, leading to the replacement of Onvo's president from Alan Ai to Shen Fei.
Visitors to Onvo stores on July 10th will not only be able to witness the L90 model but also experience it firsthand. Hundreds of L90s will be on display, demonstrating their unique self-inspection capabilities. This feature, inspired by Nio's original research and development of the Tiantan new vehicle AI vehicle body self-inspection system and the SkyOS vehicle operating system, allows the vehicles to automatically inspect over 1,000 functions in just three minutes.
Shen Fei, the current Onvo president, described this self-inspection process as a "science fiction movie" from Nio's smart factory. A video shared by Shen on Weibo showcases the L90s undergoing self-inspections, providing a glimpse into this futuristic technology.
In addition to the L90, Onvo will also launch the L80 in the fourth quarter, a five-seat variant of the L90, aiming to cater to different market segments. The L60, a mid-size five-seat SUV, will continue to be available.
Nio's third factory, the F3 factory, is scheduled to begin production in September, further supporting the production of these new models. The Onvo L90 will start at under RMB 300,000 ($41,830), making it an affordable option for many consumers.
With the launch of the L90 and L80, Onvo aims to expand its market presence and meet its overall sales target for the brand. The success of these new models will be crucial in achieving the ambitious sales goal of 25,000 units per month for the fourth quarter of 2025.
