Apple unveils Freeform, a potent application tailored for creativity-focused ideation and teamwork sessions
Apple has entered the collaboration space with the launch of its new app, Freeform. The app, available from December 13, 2022, is designed for creative brainstorming and collaboration, and is accessible on iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices running iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, or macOS Ventura 13.1.
Freeform offers a flexible canvas where users can organise and visually lay out content. It supports a wide range of files, including photos, videos, audio, documents, PDFs, links to websites, sticky notes, shapes, diagrams, and more. Users can add a variety of brush styles and colour options for sketching ideas, adding comments, and drawing diagrams.
One of the standout features of Freeform is its real-time collaboration capabilities. Up to 100 users can collaborate on the same board, with all contributions visible in real-time. This fast-sync capability, coupled with iCloud integration, ensures that users stay in sync across devices.
Freeform also integrates seamlessly with Apple's FaceTime service, allowing users to collaborate while on a call. Users can invite others to Freeform boards via a link or email, and the app can be invited to a Messages thread, automatically inviting all thread members to collaborate.
Activity updates in Freeform will show up at the top of the Messages thread, making it easy to keep track of changes and contributions. The app's search functionality allows users to quickly find specific content, and boards are stored in iCloud, ensuring they are always up-to-date.

With its wide range of features and seamless integration with Apple's existing services, Freeform is set to become an essential tool for teams and individuals alike.
