Alaska Airlines Launches Unique Seattle-Reykjavik Route with Aurora Borealis Livery
Alaska Airlines is set to launch a unique non-stop route between Seattle and Reykjavik, Iceland, starting May 28, 2026. The flight will stand out with a distinctive Dreamliner livery inspired by the Aurora Borealis, featuring deep midnight blues and emerald green strokes.
The new route will be operated by a single-aisle Boeing 737 MAX 8, accommodating up to 159 passengers. The outbound flight will take approximately 7 hours and 25 minutes, while the return flight is scheduled for 7 hours and 55 minutes, making it the longest flights of any US carrier. The distance covered will be 3,622 miles.
To enhance the passenger experience, Alaska Airlines will offer free in-flight Wi-Fi on these flights. Additionally, the carrier plans to introduce a refreshed First Class dining experience on its Boeing 737 fleet. This new route is part of Alaska Airlines' expansion plans, aiming to launch 12 long-haul international flights within the next four years.
The Seattle to Reykjavik route will operate as a summer seasonal service, offering passengers a unique and convenient way to travel between these two destinations.
