Etihad Airways Introduces Luxury and Technology to Single-Aisle Travel with New Airbus A321LR
Etihad Airways has taken a significant step forward in enhancing the travel experience for passengers, unveiling its new Airbus A321LR. This aircraft, set to enter commercial service on 1 August 2025, brings a new level of luxury and technology to single-aisle travel.
The A321LR features a three-cabin configuration, including Etihad's first-ever narrowbody First Suites. These private, enclosed spaces with sliding doors, fully-flat beds, and bespoke design touches promise an unparalleled level of comfort and exclusivity.
The Business cabin offers widebody-style seats in a 1-1 herringbone layout, ensuring every passenger has direct aisle access and window views. Economy seats provide generous space and comfort, offering an elevated experience for single-aisle travel. Enlarged overhead bins provide significantly more luggage space than traditional narrowbody aircraft.
The A321LR is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi powered by Viasat, offering speeds of up to hundreds of Mbps. This advanced technology enables seamless streaming, gaming, and browsing from gate to gate where permitted. Seats in Business and Economy also offer wireless charging and Bluetooth audio pairing, enhancing the in-flight digital experience.
Etihad Guest, the loyalty program of Etihad Airways, has partnered with the multinational neobank Revolut. This collaboration unlocks a world of exclusive rewards and experiences for members. Revolut customers worldwide can now transfer their RevPoints to Etihad Guest Miles via the Revolut mobile app.
Mark Potter, Managing Director of Etihad Guest, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating it will inspire customers to explore new destinations and fuel a passion for travel. With 27 new destinations joining Etihad’s network this year, members can utilize their spending to earn a ticket to see the world.
Etihad Airways’ new Airbus A321LR combines exclusive First Suites, spacious widebody-style Business seats, and enhanced Economy comfort with advanced connectivity and entertainment. This redefines single-aisle travel luxury and technology standards for the airline.
The A321LR is the first of 30 scheduled to join Etihad’s fleet. Initially, it will operate between Abu Dhabi and Phuket, followed by numerous destinations including Algiers, Bangkok, Copenhagen, Milan, Paris, and others.
