Aira's Wireless Charging Solution Snags $500K on Shark Tank
Entrepreneurs Jake Slatnick and Eric Goodchild have developed Aira, a wireless charging solution that's making waves. The product, a brainchild of their company Nomad, promises efficient and versatile charging, catching the eye of investors on Shark Tank.
Aira's charging pad boasts specific sweet spots for optimal device charging. The technology, patented by the duo, allows for sensitive and efficient charging of multiple devices simultaneously. Eric Goodchild, with his extensive background in electrical engineering and embedded systems, played a pivotal role in developing this innovative tech. Jake Slatnick, an entrepreneur with a history in menswear and a hacky sack business, brought his business acumen to the table.
The company, Nomad, is a lifestyle brand known for its phone cases. Aira, however, is their foray into wireless charging. With a $30,000 monthly burn rate and an ask of 33,000 units, the entrepreneurs sought investment to scale their product. They pitched on Shark Tank, asking for $500,000 for 7% equity. Impressed by Aira's technology and the entrepreneurs' passion, Sharks Robert Herjavec, Lori Greiner, and Kevin O’Leary made a joint offer. After a bidding war, the trio invested $500,000 for 15% equity.
Aira's innovative wireless charging technology, coupled with its founders' diverse backgrounds and passion, has secured a significant investment on Shark Tank. With the Sharks' backing, Aira is poised to revolutionize the way we charge our devices.
