AI Strategy Leader David-Olivier Tarac works at Geodis
Geodis, a leading global logistics company, has announced the appointment of Amaury Valicon as the Executive Vice President (EVP) for Europe, effective November 1, 2025. Valicon has been a key figure at Geodis since joining in 2017, serving as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operations Officer (COO).
Prior to his tenure at Geodis, Valicon's career spans various industries, but he has not disclosed his previous roles before joining the company. In 2022, Pascal Tarac joined Geodis as the deputy group CFO, and he was later appointed as the CFO in January 2023. Tarac's roles at Geodis have not been detailed in the recent announcement.
Carole Besnard, the current deputy group CFO at Geodis, will replace Tarac as the CFO. The company has not provided any information about Tarac's future roles within the organisation.
Valicon's appointment comes as Geodis continues its transformation, with AI playing a significant role. The company's AI department is positioned as a performance driver, process simplifier, and innovator across all business lines. The AI initiative aims to accelerate Geodis' transformation and promote sustainable growth for customers and partners worldwide.
The benefits of AI in a digital supply chain are numerous, according to Geodis. These include optimising delivery routes, managing inventory more accurately, and using predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and costs. However, the specific benefits of AI in the context of the upcoming Automotive Logistics and Supply Chain Digital Strategies Europe conference, which takes place on November 26-27 in Munich, Germany, have not been discussed.
The conference focuses on aligning data, technology, and strategy to shape flexible, goal-driven AI roadmaps for logistics transformation. It does not discuss Geodis' AI initiative or its positioning as a performance driver, process simplifier, and innovator across all business lines.
Valicon replaces Thomas Kraus in his new role at Geodis. Kraus' future plans within the company have not been disclosed. The appointment was announced this week, marking a significant change in Geodis' European leadership.
