Farming Safety Revolution: Acumind AI Empowering Australian Farmers

Justin Koschitzke, ex-AFL star, and Leneila Lynne, AI expert, are on a mission to revolutionize the safety and wellbeing of Australia's farming community. Together, they've formed Acumind AI, a tool to turn complex farming safety information into digestible video modules, ensuring workers not just understand critical safety details but also retain the information, preventing severe injuries and fatalities.

St Kilda football club legend and mental health advocate Justin Koschitzke, with his rural roots embedded, teamed up with digital marketing and AI guru Leneila Lynne to create this groundbreaking platform. The duo's strategy is part of the CivVic Labs challenge, a joint effort by our website and Agriculture Victoria.

Acumind AI marries Leneila's digital marketing and AI prowess with Justin's deep understanding of farming communities. The result is a product that tackles farmers' safety issues head-on, especially considering the spike in on-farm injuries and fatalities[3][4].

"We're out to transform outdated training manuals into content that regular folks can understand," Leneila explained. The videos can be customized with avatars, with Justin himself appearing in the mental health-focused content. This versatile resource allows workers to revisit the information whenever they need it.

Moreover, Acumind AI's cutting-edge technology supports more than 150 languages, ensuring international CALD workers don't miss essential safety information if English is not their first language[4].

"People won't ask questions when they're not sure of something, and that can cause dangerous situations," explained Justin, who has seen firsthand the perils of farmwork. But Acumind AI's videos are designed to educate and empower workers, making safety information readily available on-the-go[4].

The journey of Acumind AI, from dream to reality, started with the CivVic Labs program, an initiative for aspiring entrepreneurs to work on innovation challenges identified by government[5]. With their innovative approach, Justin and Leneila aim to open as many farm gates as possible, making farming safer, promoting employee retention, and saving lives[6].

Footnote:[1] Mental health support is just one of the many segments they are considering integrating into their platform based on farmer feedback.[2] Connections with like-minded agtech founders were forged during their CivVic Labs experience.[3] Farm safety information is often presented in outdated, analog formats, with AI being a promising solution for improving knowledge retention.[4] This integration of AI is expected to cater to different learning styles, particularly benefiting those with dyslexia, who are over-represented in the ag space.[5] Expressions of Interest for the next CivVic Labs challenge are open until 1pm on 16 April.[6] Acumind AI is part of Drought Venture Studio's Cohort 3, working alongside other innovators to enhance drought resilience across Australian agriculture.
