Aerospacelab Secures €131.5M to Boost Europe's Space Capabilities

Belgium-based Aerospacelab, a leading satellite manufacturer, has secured significant funding to bolster its growth and Europe's space capabilities. The company recently announced a €37.5 million venture debt financing deal, supported by the EU's InvestEU program, and a €94 million Series B funding round led by European venture firms. This comes amidst increasing strategic importance of satellite technologies in the global navigation landscape.

Aerospacelab's recent investments include the acquisition of Belgian optics specialist AMOS, enhancing its in-house capabilities for high-precision satellite components. The company also opened a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Torrance, California, in August 2024, to tap into the American market and collaborate with NASA and commercial partners. Additionally, Aerospacelab is preparing for its first hyperspectral mission, IPERLITE, set to demonstrate advanced Earth-imaging technology.

The funding will accelerate Aerospacelab's roadmap, with a primary focus on completing its 'Megafactory' in Charleroi, Belgium. Once fully operational, this facility is expected to produce up to 500 satellites annually. The funds also support deeper vertical integration, including advancements in research and development for next-generation satellite technologies. As of September 2025, Aerospacelab has secured substantial investments, positioning itself as a key player in Europe's space sector.

Founded in 2018, Aerospacelab provides end-to-end satellite solutions, from platforms to geospatial intelligence services. With its latest funding and strategic acquisitions, the company is well-equipped to strengthen Europe's space capabilities and contribute to the continent's technological and security sovereignty in the face of global navigation systems like BeiDou.
