The 17th China International Modern Railway Technology and Equipment Exhibition Showcases Groundbreaking Advances in the Railway Industry

On July 9, 2025, the final day of the 17th China International Modern Railway Technology and Equipment Exhibition, attendees were treated to a demonstration of the Fuxing high-speed train. This event, held at the China National Convention Center and the National Railway Test Center in Beijing, was a trade show focused on the railway industry and showcased technology and equipment from various countries.

The exhibition, which took place from July 8 to July 9, 2025, in Beijing, highlighted the latest advancements in the railway industry. One of the standout technologies was China's next-generation CR450 high-speed train, known as CR450AF/BF Fuxing. This eight-car train has a maximum operating speed of 400 km/h and boasts a 22% reduction in aerodynamic drag, a 4% improvement in traction efficiency, a 10% reduction in overall weight, and a 20% reduction in energy consumption compared to current fastest trains. Although it is planned for future commercial service, a specific timeframe has yet to be announced.

Another remarkable exhibit was a 600 km/h magnetic levitation (maglev) train prototype, representing a significant advancement in ultra-high-speed rail technology. This maglev train is expected to start running by the end of 2025, pushing the boundaries of speed limits in the railway industry.

The exhibition also featured the latest global railway technologies and equipment, reflecting China's leading role in high-speed rail development and promoting international cooperation for sustainable rail solutions. The event attracted a broad audience, including 521 exhibitors, emphasizing domestic rail innovation alongside international technologies.

During the event, attendees had the opportunity to witness the simulated driving of the Fuxing high-speed train, a highlight of the exhibition. This feature was a testament to the ongoing advancements in the railway industry and the commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in high-speed train technology.
