China Showcases Next-Generation High-Speed Trains at Modern Railway Exhibition

The 17th China International Modern Railway Technology and Equipment Exhibition, held in Beijing from July 8 to July 9, 2025, highlighted significant advancements in high-speed rail technology. The event featured the latest railway technologies and equipment from around the world, with the Fuxing high-speed train taking centre stage.

The Fuxing high-speed train, a modern railway technology, was one of the showcased equipment at the event. Visitors had the opportunity to experience a simulated drive of the Fuxing high-speed train, providing an immersive and realistic representation of train operations and interiors.

The CR450 Fuxing high-speed trains, capable of speeds up to 400 km/h, were the main attraction. These next-generation trains boast aerodynamic optimizations reducing drag by 22%, improved traction efficiency, lighter weight, and 20% lower energy consumption compared to existing models.

In addition, a cutting-edge magnetic levitation (maglev) train prototype reaching speeds of 600 km/h was showcased. This prototype leverages magnetic levitation technology to minimize friction and can switch from rubber wheels to maglev mode at speeds beyond 150 km/h, marking a milestone in ultra-high-speed rail development in China.

The event also showcased other innovative technologies such as railway unmanned aerial vehicle intelligent inspection systems and the promotion of new global international standards led by China for the high-speed rail industry. The exhibition served as a platform for international cooperation and technology exchange, drawing participants and agreements from multiple countries and regions.

The exhibition attracted over 72,000 visitors, emphasizing China’s leadership in high-speed rail technology. The event kicked off on July 8, 2025, and concluded on July 9, 2025.

In summary, the 2025 exhibition spotlighted significant advances in energy-efficient, ultra-high-speed trains like the CR450 Fuxing and 600 km/h maglev prototype, combined with interactive passenger experiences such as the simulated Fuxing train ride, reflecting China’s innovative prowess in modern rail technology. The event was a testament to China's commitment to advancing and sharing high-speed rail technology with the world.

Industries such as finance and transportation were represented at the event, as many attendees were interested in the potential investment opportunities presented by the advancements in high-speed rail technology. Additionally, technology companies showcased their latest innovations in magnetic levitation and unmanned aerial vehicle technology, highlighting the intersection of rail and tech industries at the exhibition.
