Russian airline Aeroflot is currently in the process of recovering its systems following a major cyber attack that occurred on August 1, 2025. This attack, claimed by a pro-Ukrainian hacker group, affected all electronic systems of the airline, leading to a system failure on July 28 and causing widespread delays and cancellations, with more than 50 round-trip flights from Moscow being cancelled.

Despite the ongoing technical work, Aeroflot has assured its passengers that certain benefits will not be affected. Program participants can continue to use accelerated registration and access to business lounges without restrictions. However, the personal account access of the Aeroflot Bonus program is temporarily restricted due to the ongoing technical work, and there is currently no specific update on when it will be fully restored. Premium ticket booking and mileage accrual will be available after the scheduled work is completed.

The investigation into the cyber attack is ongoing, with the responsibility for the attack being claimed by the Silent Crow group and Cyberpartisans BY. Roskomnadzor, the Russian federal service for supervision in the sphere of communications, information technology, and mass media, has clarified that there is no confirmation of a leak of personal data of passengers or airline employees. The General Prosecutor's Office has opened a criminal case for unauthorized access to computer information (Part 4 of Art. 272 of the RF Criminal Code).

Aeroflot is making efforts to quickly restore its system and keep passengers updated on flight status and any further developments related to the program and overall airline operations. Passengers are advised to stay updated and check their flight status regularly.
