3D Enhancement of Free Particle Illusion Experience
Particle Illusion, a popular particle effects creation tool, has unveiled an update that significantly boosts its integration with After Effects' 3D text, lights, and masks. This update strengthens Particle Illusion's ability to interact seamlessly with After Effects' native 3D and compositing features, enabling more realistic and complex visual effects.
Key new features in the update include:
- 3D Text Integration: Users can now emit particles from or interact with 3D text layers within After Effects, opening up possibilities for immersive text-driven particle animations.
- Lights Integration: Particle Illusion now responds to and is affected by After Effects' 3D light layers. This allows for shadowing, highlights, and more natural illumination effects on particle systems.
- Masks Integration: Masks in After Effects can now be used to control where particles appear or are constrained, offering greater creative control over particle placement and visibility in compositions.
The standalone Particle Illusion app also boasts new features such as fluid dynamics for realistic particle motion and the ability to draw gestural animation paths with Wacom styluses. However, the direct After Effects plugin improvements primarily focus on this enhanced 3D and compositing interoperability[1].
This update makes Particle Illusion more tightly integrated with After Effects workflows, particularly for projects requiring advanced text animation combined with particle effects, realistic lighting, and precise compositing controls.
To help users navigate these new features, the comprehensive FREE training series for Particle Illusion has been updated. The training series, featuring trainers Ben Brownlee and John Dickinson, now consists of 24 bite-size tutorials, covering everything from the basics of the Particle Illusion interface to creating complex animations. The series is designed for users to learn at their own pace.
Moreover, the update introduces a new node-based workflow, the Node View interface, which changes the way users work inside Particle Illusion. New 3D emitter shapes, cameras, views, 3D forces, deflectors, and emission options are also part of the update. Additionally, lines and turbulence features have been added for increased creative control over particle behaviour.
